turnip recipe

Roasted Turnips with Honey and Poppy Seeds

500g turnips peeled and cut into chunks
30g butter
1 tbsp olive oil
Runny honey
Poppy seeds
Sea Salt & Black pepper

Serves 4

Place the turnip chunks on a roasting tin, place the butter in small cubes on top and drizzle with the oil. Roast in an oven at 200C/400F/Gas mark 6 for 20 minutes then add the honey and the poppy seeds coating the turnips well, put back in the oven for a further 10 minutes at a lower heat of 180C/350F/Gas mark 4. Serve with roast meats, game, sausages etc.
